Nestled in the heart of the Western Corridor of Serengeti National Park, Asanja Nyasirori is a luxury tented retreat that offers a front-row seat to one of the most spectacular wildlife theatres on Earth.
Designed with elegance and authenticity, the camp features seven ensuite luxury tents and a spacious two-bedroom ensuite family tent, each inspired by traditional Maasai ‘enkaji’ huts — thoughtfully reimagined with modern comforts and rustic charm.
Asanja Moru is a Luxury Bush camp & is located amid Rocky Islands known as the Moru Kopjes inside the Serengeti National Park which plays host to the most amazing wildlife spectacle in East Africa. Another pinnacle point of Moru is the Gong Rock Where one can view a Series of Masai Paintings and just to the east lies the Saline Lake Magadi, a Paradise for Flamingos.
The exclusive Asanja Moru camp provides you with an authentic luxury bush camping experience. Asanja Moru camp’s area is best known for its enormous herbivore migration led by over a million zebra and wildebeest, a vast voracious lawnmower which in turn provides sustenance for a glut of predators.
All Asanja Moru tents are Ensuite and are distinct and unique in their individual character, personalized and embellished in African style and culture.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) you will be met and transferred to hotel near the airport to recover from your journey and if you’re lucky you will be able to catch a glimpse of the spectacular Mount Kilimanjaro which rises from the clouds above town.
This morning you will be transferred to Arusha Airport to catch your flight to Grumeti Airstrip in Western Serengeti. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and embark on a wilderness safari and follow the great migration trails. We arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and after lunch we will enjoy more game drives. Considered as the greatest spectacle of all the time, the wildebeest migration river crossing occurs along the Grumeti River in the months of June. This is a fantastic time to be here to witness not only land predators but river predators waiting for prey as over 1.5 million wildebeest cross the river. You have two full days to enjoy this great spectacle. Aside from the migration Grumeti is home to many other species of animals including Leopards, Elephants and much more.
On the start of Day 4, after breakfast, enjoy an enroute game drive to the central regions of Serengeti taking approx. 3 hours. You will have the next two days to explore the Serengeti. Break the day into morning and afternoon game drives or take a picnic lunch for a full day. Your guide will choose the best wildlife viewing locations for the time of year. Spend time at the hippo pool, watching these enormous animals laze about in the cool water alongside the crocodiles, watch a lion stalking its prey or be staggered by the scale of the great wildebeest migration. Journey from wide, open plains to the kopjes, volcanic rocky outcrops that provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals. This diverse and interesting landscape will provide you with the ultimate in game viewing.
An early morning start in the Serengeti to try and find cats before they retreat from the blazing sun during the day and then an onward travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will overnight. The Ngorongoro caldera is the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. At approximately 20 kilometres across and 600 metres deep, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breath-taking natural wonder. Upon arrival into Ngorongoro you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a wonderful haven for wildlife. Ngorongoro is unique in that almost all the wildlife lives within the crater walls, hence you have the opportunity to find game easily. Rhino in particular can be seen regularly, as well as prides of lion and other predators like cheetah. Enjoy lunch by the hippo pond. Afterwards make your way to your hotel where you will overnight and enjoy stunning views of the crater.
After a relaxed morning enjoying stunning views of the crater make your way to Arusha Airport.
